Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the completion of their assigned projects, assuring high quality products are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This specific position is expected to oversee all aspects of the project from start to completion and will coordinate efforts involving the GCG project team, design partners, subcontractor trade partners, clients/developers and their stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced, challenging team environment, and can be nimble, adjusting priorities for the overall benefit of the project, client, and team.

The Project Manager is responsible for bidding, buyout, subcontract management, project cost control, change order management, client billings, schedule analysis/management, and closeout activities. They participate in the value engineering efforts and manage subcontractor trade partners and vendors to ensure that specific work scopes are bought out optimizing client value. The Project Manager supports senior management staff in the day-to-day communication between Guzman Construction Group, the client/developer, design team, consultants, and all other project stakeholders. They will also provide direct supervision to assigned Project Engineers, Interns, Staff,  and Project Administration.

Project ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a junior level management position that offers individuals with limited experience in construction the opportunity to learn hands on estimating, management and commercial construction practices.  The ideal candidate for this position is motivated, organized, possesses excellent communication skills, and is eager to learn.

Project Engineers are typically assigned to one large or two medium sized projects.  They split their time between our main office and the jobsite as necessary to meet the demands of their projects.  In the office, Project Engineers assist with quantity take-offs, bidding and estimating.  They also assist Project Managers and Superintendents with tracking of contract documents and resolving field-generated questions.  Project Engineers are responsible for learning safe construction practice, documenting changes, tracking schedules, overseeing general paperwork and assisting the Project Superintendent with record keeping. They also participate in coordination meetings.

Our intent is to expose Project Engineers to all aspects of a construction project by giving them a significant level of responsibility.  They are not limited to a specific group of tasks.
