Children’s Day School

The St. Joseph’s Hall project at Children’s Day School involved a comprehensive 10,000-square-foot seismic upgrade to an existing campus building in San Francisco. The scope included demolishing the existing roof, installing new roof sheathing, and reconstructing both the floor and roof with new steel framing and concrete shear walls to meet current seismic code requirements.

Additional improvements included restoring select historic window frames and sills, repainting the building’s exterior, upgrading roofing materials, and enhancing accessibility throughout. The project was carefully planned to balance structural strengthening with historic preservation and ADA compliance, creating a safe, resilient, and enduring space for the school community.
